Build your confidence with numbers and gain a qualification. Multiply offers an excellent opportunity to refresh, evaluate, and improve our maths skills.

Here at The Community Learning Service, we are delivering many new and exciting sessions thanks to the Multiply Project, a government funded incentive launched in 2022.

Our Multiply sessions are available to adults (19+) who have a maths qualification below level 2 (GCSE grade C/4).

We have a variety of Multiply courses and workshops suitable for adults and their families; all sharing the same aim: to increase people’s confidence in maths. Some examples of our courses/workshops include Money Crash Course, Cooking on a Budget, Healthy Living Maths, and Keeping Up With the Kids (KUWTK). From these there is a progression pathway to accredited courses where a qualification can be achieved that is valued by employers, boosting career opportunities, and helping you on your path to further education and/or employment.

Multiply also aims to encourage intergenerational learning, helping to develop a love of learning within families. This is primarily achieved through our family learning workshops, for example our workshop ‘Does Money Grow on Trees?’ is aimed to develop children’s understanding of finances through fun arts and crafts.

Our Multiply workshops and courses are delivered here at The Learning Place as well as within the community with partners such as the Salvation Army, ECASS (Every Charitable Act Supports Someone), Landport Community Centre, and in some of our local schools.
